The parade begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon on November 24, 2022. It is 2.5 miles long. It begins at West 77th Street and Central Park West. It continues towards Columbus Circle and then heads straight down 6th Avenue all the way to the Macy’s store at Herald Square.There will be approximately 3.5 million spectators lining the parade route and another 50 million will be watching the parade live on TV. There will also be over 8000 participants marching in the parade.The key to this parade has always been the floats. In 2018 there were 31 floats and approximately the same number are expected for 2019. These are all over 50 feet tall and weigh an average of 650 pounds (deflated).When considering the security-related issues, one also must take into consideration the weather and any weather-related issues which can arise.
