Instructions

First, create an outline or concept map that summarizes your communication plan for a

significant organizational change or event. Consider the following examples: a new company

branding initiative; the restructuring of a team, department or business unit; a company-wide

community service project; the transition of an executive leader; an emergency response to

a natural disaster; a merger/acquisition; the closure/ending of the business; etc.

If you are unsure what a concept map is, refer to the following video.

Use Microsoft Word to create your concept map. Use the following video to help you create

the concept map in Word.

following video.

Second, include a fully composed email that communicates specifics around the change or

event.

Make sure to answer the following questions as you prepare your communication plan and

draft your email:

· Who is your audience?

· What is your strategy for reaching your audience effectively?

· How are you tailoring your message to reach the individual, group, and organizational

levels?

· What powers of influence will you utilize?

· What barriers to communication are present?

· What is your timeline?

· What method(s) will you use and why (in-person, written, video, email, newsletter,

etc.)?

· How will you measure your results? (How will you know the message was received?)

· How does the application of a biblical worldview and biblical principles affect your

communication plan?
