Addams represented important features Jane Addams, a pioneering social worker, co-founded Hull House in 1889 to address poverty, urban reform, and the concerns of Chicago’s immigrant community. She pushed for women’s rights, labor reforms, and peace, actively participating in the women’s suffrage movement and co-founding the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. Her accomplishments include advocating for juvenile courts, improved sanitation, and housing rules. of social work, such as community participation through living among people she served, she was taking a comprehensive approach to tackling many social concerns and fighting for systemic change. She encouraged empowerment via education and skill development, believing in the ability of knowledgeable citizens to advocate for their rights.
