Social networks pose potential dangers to personal privacy by making much of our information available for others to see. We are  subject to relatively easy surveillance through what we post on social networks  with friends and acquaintances and government records, that are out of our control. How does “trust” impact what you or others post? Or does it?

All of the major social media networks have been under intense scrutiny while testifying before Congress on privacy and how they sell your data. 

There are many vendors out there that businesses, human resources and financial services utilize in the course of due diligence for customers and employers. In some instances,  social media sites have sold their information to them.

Summarize the privacy movement and the public perceptions (from readings) of social media. Why should individuals demand privacy when they are the ones making posts, videos, etc?
