This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin.Instructions In Session 4, you will be writing a Media Analysis essay. This week, however, you are to simply determine the name of the film you would like to use for the Media Analysis essay and submit the name (title) here. Select one of these films: Groundhog Day, Avatar, A River Runs through It, Star Wars (any episode), Inherit the Wind (any version), and Les Misérables (any version). If you are unable to obtain one of these films, feel free to choose another one. However, the goal is to analyze non-Christian media where you don’t know what worldview to expect beforehand.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and then type the name of your film into the submission box. Upload your assignment by the posted due date. Review the rubric for specific grading criteria.

The prompt for the Media Analysis in Session 4 is below:

In a four- to five-page paper, analyze the portrayal of worldviews by evaluating the dialog and actions of the characters. Your paper will be evaluated based upon your ability to identify the worldview(s) depicted in the characters. Be sure to provide specific evidence from the film or the television show that supports your analysis and illustrates how those elements are components within a worldview. Within your paper, include at least five direct quotations from the film that specifically demonstrate the importance of worldview.

Please note: This is not a movie review or a movie summary, but an analysis. As you are watching the movie/TV show, ask yourself, “What is this movie saying “the good life” looks like? What does it present as the purpose of life? How is this media teaching me to see the world?”
