HEADING: Understanding Psychology: The Study of Mind and Behaviour

Psychology is considered a science that deals with the mind and behavior of human individuals and animals, explaining the way they think, feel, and behave both individually and within groups. Some fields in psychology include cognitive, developmental, social, and clinical areas of this study. Psychologists do research to explain processes of the mind and emotions and different factors-both biological and those influenced by social and environmental contexts-that impact behaviors. Psychologists make use of many methods in collecting data to test their hypotheses; two widely used research designs include experiments and observations. In any case, the ultimate aim of psychology is the betterment of well-being through the translation of its findings into practice in therapies, education, and healthcare to meet mental health challenges and improve human potential.
