This is a Discussion Post.

On last week, President Donald Trump issued an executive order to end birthright citizenship. This simply means if a person was born in the U.S. and their parents were not, they could be deported and their citizenship could be revoked.

A  federal judge, Judge John Coughenour,  appointed by President Ronald Reagan, said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship was “blatantly unconstitutional” and issued a temporary restraining order. Many others feel that ending birthright citizenship is a violation of the Fourteenth Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to all children born on US soil “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”

In your opinion, do you agree with President Trump’s executive order to end birthright citizenship? Why or Why not?  What are your thoughts on the judge’s decision? What do you think should happen?
