Conflict Exercises –
Week 8
For this week’s assignment, I would like you to undertake a research task that focuses
on underrepresented perspectives in conflict resolution. Given the historical dominance
of male, white Western narratives in this field, it is crucial to highlight the voices that are
often marginalized, including those of women and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and
People of Color). Your assignment is to locate a specific case where women’s and/or
BIPOC’s perspectives are central to conflict transformation processes.

That means a personal blog will not do, but the blog might refer to an organizational
report. Additionally, I also want you to look closely at the source. What kind of
organization, what kind of government entity, etc? I want you to learn to question and
critically examine the information you gather online. Describe the case and connect it to
the course material (also think about the Lederach book!).
