 Ethical Leadership in Everyday Life

After studying Module 1: Lecture Materials & Resources, discuss the following:

There once was a manager who showed ethical leadership by being honest, fair, and responsible. When a conflict happened between team members, the manager listened to everyone before making a fair decision. By being open and treating everyone with respect, the manager created a positive and trusting work environment.

Ethical leadership is not just for people with big job titles. Anyone can be an ethical leader by making honest choices, treating others with respect, and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. For example, in a group project, making sure everyone gets credit for their work is a way to practice ethical leadership.

When businesses and industries focus on ethical leadership, they become stronger and more successful. Without it, problems like dishonesty and unfair treatment can happen. Good leaders help create a fair and positive society. By practicing ethical leadership in small ways every day, we can all make a difference.

Discussion Question: Think about a time when you or someone you know made a good and fair choice. This could be at school, work, or home. What was the situation? What did the person do that was honest, fair, or responsible? How did this choice help others? Write a short response (at least 200 words) to explain your thoughts.
