Barriers for Your Target Audience [WLO: 1] [CLOs: 1, 3]

In last week’s Target Audience assignment, each of you provided summary explanations of the various factors that impact your target audience. In this week’s discussion forum, you will share those identified barriers with the class, seeking feedback on how to best account for them in your pending action plans. The goal of this discussion is peer-to-peer feedback. Your instructor will certainly be present to further critical thought on the topic, but your peers are your greatest resource this week.

Large teams conduct traditional community assessments over months. Conducting your external assessment alone can make some barriers seem too large to overcome. The goal is to highlight ways to reach target audiences despite anticipated challenges using your collective knowledge and research.

For your initial post,

  • Highlight your two target audiences’ demographics (age, gender ratios, SES, location [rural, city, etc.]) and the community need they are associated with based on your research.
  • Explain the challenges you foresee in reaching or even championing these populations.

You must support your data and explanation with a minimum of two credible sources. Use proper APA StyleLinks to an external site. formatting for in-text citations and references as outlined in the UAGC Writing Center.
