Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)

Instructions

1. Review the module presentation and the recommended and additional resources.

2. This assignment focuses on sexually transmitted diseases or infections (STDs/STIs) that are little known or talked about.

3. You should look up information on STDs/STIs and select a specific infection that you have not heard of before. If you are well oriented on the topic, then choose an infection that you understand is not well known to the general population and should be publicized. Any infection or disease that can be transmitted through sexual contact can be used (Example: Neurosyphilis).

4. Mention the selected infection, provide a brief summary of what it is, symptoms and consequences. Elaborate on other additional information (such as infection statistics, prevalence, whether it is common in your country of residence, who it affects most, or any other scientific information you discover in your search that you feel is relevant).

5. Conclude with your reaction to this information discovered and why you believe you were unaware of this infection. Reflect on the quality of sex education you received about STDs/STIs.
