1. Describe what happens when light strikes a photoreceptor. Include the effects on photopigments and the release of the transmitter by photoreceptors.

3. Explain the differences between Broca’s, Wernicke’s, and conduction aphasias and how they support localization of function in language processing. 7. List four major types of human brain scanning techniques and provide one advantage and one disadvantage of each.

8. Compare and contrast the roles of the cerebellum versus the basal ganglia in movement.
