Our attributes and competencies play a significant role in our effectiveness as leaders, where success is not just a factor of what we know, but how we represent ourselves in the workplace and what we do with that knowledge. This is the essence of the Be-Know-Do model, which captures the fundamental attributes, behaviors, and characteristics reflected in the most effective leaders. For this assignment, students will choose a leader with whom they are familiar and prepare a short essay discussing how the elements of the Be-Know-Do model were—or were not—demonstrated and the overall impact of their leadership style.

This assignment will be submitted electronically as a Word file.

  • Your written submission should be a minimum of 350 words in length to receive full credit and include citations from at least two references from the reading or self-study.
  • Your submission should be double-spaced and written in 12-point font; the style used—APA, Chicago, MLA—is the student’s choice, but that style must be used consistently and correctly.
  • Submissions will be assessed for narrative style, written clarity and tone, and passive voice, and must be free of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
  • You must submit your completed response by the posted due date. Essays submitted after that close of the module will lose one letter grade for every day it is late.
